SULZER Pump Casing Cover (also called casing cover, front cover, rear cover, or volute cover) is the stationary pressure boundary component that closes the pump casing on the shaft side. Mounted opposite the volute casing, the casing cover forms the complete pressure chamber and provides the sealing surface for the mechanical seal or packing gland. It houses the shaft penetration and typically includes the seal chamber, bearing housing interface, and connections for flush and drain lines.
The casing cover must withstand the full pump operating pressure, accommodate the rotating shaft with close clearance at the seal area, and resist erosion from high-velocity fluid that may leak past the wear rings. Common failure modes include seal chamber bore wear (from seal replacement cycles), flange face corrosion, stress cracking from pressure cycling, and erosion at the tongue or cutwater area adjacent to the impeller discharge.
Our SULZER replacement casing covers are reverse-engineered using FARO 3D laser scanning to capture the seal chamber bore, flange bolt pattern, and internal hydraulic profile. Produced to exact OEM dimensions with full pressure test certification.
