SULZER Bearing Unit Service Kit is a pre-assembled set of all wearing components required to overhaul the bearing housing assembly of a SULZER centrifugal pump. The kit typically includes the rolling element bearings (radial and thrust), bearing housing seals (lip seals, V-rings, or labyrinth seals), shaft retaining rings or lock nuts with washers, oil seals, bearing cover O-rings and gaskets, and any associated snap rings, spacers, or dowel pins specific to the bearing housing configuration.

Using a factory-specified service kit instead of sourcing each bearing component separately provides several advantages: guaranteed compatibility of all parts within the bearing housing envelope, a single part number for ordering and stock management, elimination of the risk of mismatched bearing series or incorrect seal profiles, and reduced downtime during bearing replacement since all components are verified together before dispatch.

Our SULZER bearing unit kits are assembled from branded bearings (SKF, FAG, NSK or equivalent premium grade) with seals and hardware manufactured to match the original SULZER bearing housing dimensions.

• Clean Work Area — Bearing replacement must be performed in a clean environment; any contamination during installation will reduce bearing life regardless of component quality
• Bearing Heating — Bearings should be heated uniformly (induction heater or oil bath at max 110°C) and mounted on the shaft; never hammer bearings onto the shaft
• Correct Torque — Bearing lock nut and housing bolts must be tightened to the specified torque values in the kit documentation; overtightening distorts bearing race geometry
• Rabbit & Locking — Lock washers or tab washers must be bent into the lock nut slot to prevent loosening during operation
• Grease / Oil Charge — Fill to the specified level; over-greasing causes overheating in grease-lubricated bearings
