Wax injection → Clusters assembly → Coating & Sanding → Dewaxing → Casting → Post cleaning → Heat treatment → Inspection

Sand Casting

Large impellers; cast iron and cast steel; cost-sensitive applications

Pattern making → Molding → Melting & pouring → Cooling → Shakeout → Heat treatment → Inspection

All castings are heat-treated to relieve stress and achieve specified mechanical properties. Method of casting is selected based on impeller size, material, and quantity — our engineering team will recommend the optimal process for your order.

Machining Process

Precision machining is performed on 3-axis and 4-axis CNC centers to ensure hydraulic profile accuracy and mounting dimensional compliance:

  • CNC Machining — Primary machining of hydraulic passages, hub, and shaft bore
  • Auto Lathe Machining — High-efficiency rough machining of rotational surfaces
  • Wire Cutting (EDM) — Precision cutting of keyways and complex internal profiles
  • Grinding — Shaft bore and seal fit surfaces to <Ra 1.6µm finish
  • Milling & Drilling — Mounting holes, set-screw holes, and secondary features
  • Dynamic Balancing — Two-plane balancing to ISO 1940-1 Grade G6.3

All machining is performed to CAD model tolerances with in-process inspection at key stages.

Surface Treatment

Surface treatment options are selected based on material and operating environment:

  • Blacking (Oxide Coating) — Cast iron and steel; mild corrosion protection
  • Polishing — Stainless steel; improves surface finish and cleanability
  • Anodizing — Aluminum components; enhanced corrosion resistance
  • Chrome Plating — Wear surfaces; increased hardness and abrasion resistance
  • Zinc Plating — Carbon steel fasteners and small parts; sacrificial corrosion protection

  4. Non-Destructive Testing — PT (Penetrant), RT (Radiographic), UT (Ultrasonic), MT (Magnetic) for cast and machined components
  5. Hydrostatic Pressure Testing — Pressurized leak test to confirm structural integrity before delivery
  6. Static & Dynamic Balancing — Balancing test for rotating impeller components to minimize vibration at operating speed
