Sand Casting

Large rings; cast iron and cast steel; cost-sensitive orders

Pattern making → Molding → Melting & pouring → Cooling → Shakeout → Heat treatment → Inspection

All castings are heat-treated to relieve casting stress and achieve specified mechanical properties. Casting method is selected based on ring dimensions, material grade, and order quantity.

Machining Process

Precision CNC machining ensures dimensional accuracy of bore, outside diameter, and face surfaces:

  • CNC Machining — Primary turning and boring of bore diameter and outer diameter
  • Auto Lathe & Meter Lathe — High-efficiency rough and finish turning of cylindrical surfaces
  • Wire Cutting (EDM) — Precision cutting of keyways, slots, and complex profiles
  • Grinding — Critical seating and mating surfaces to Ra <1.6µm
  • Milling & Drilling — Bolt holes, dowel pin holes, and secondary features

All machining operations are performed to CAD model tolerances with in-process inspection at critical stages.

Surface Treatment

Surface treatment extends ring service life by improving corrosion and wear resistance:

  • Blacking (Oxide Coating) — Cast iron and carbon steel; mild rust prevention
  • Polishing — Stainless steel; smooth surface, easier cleaning
