Provide your magnetic pump model and external magnet part number — our technical team will cross-reference compatibility and provide a detailed quotation with lead time.
Our brand delivers complete technical solutions within the fluid machinery and engineering sectors. Through our range of specialized technologies and product brands, we equip our clients with high-level technical advisory, commercial support, and integrated product solutions — covering pumps, frequency converters, servo drives, PLC-HMI, industrial control cabinets, motors, mechanical seals and assemblies, couplings, gearboxes, and turnkey engineering services (overseas on-site 3D scanning reverse molding of pump replacement parts and equipment debugging by our engineers deployed overseas).
FLOWSERVE CBED External Magnet (also called outer magnet, drive magnet, or magnet rotor assembly) is the key power transmission component in a magnetic drive pump. The external magnet assembly is mounted on the motor shaft and contains a ring of high-strength permanent magnets secured within a metal housing or carrier. When the motor rotates the external magnet assembly, its magnetic field couples across the containment shell (can) to the internal magnet rotor, driving the pump impeller without any mechanical shaft penetration — achieving zero leakage.
The external magnet must withstand continuous operation at motor speed, elevated temperatures from pumpage heat conducted through the containment shell, and the torque load transmitted to the internal rotor. The most common failure mode is demagnetization — partial or complete loss of magnetic flux caused by excessive temperature (typically above 120°C for NdFeB, 220°C for SmCo), over-torque events (dry running, starting against closed valve), or prolonged eddy current heating from mismatched magnetic gap or worn containment shell.
Our replacement FLOWSERVE CBED external magnets are manufactured to OEM specifications using premium permanent magnet grades (NdFeB N35EH / SmCo 2:17). Each assembly is magnetized to the specified pole count and flux density, with balanced rotation verified at operating speed. Ideal for ANSI and ISO magnetic drive pumps in chemical, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical processes.
