FLOWSERVE Bowl Assembly (also called bowl assembly, bowl unit, or stage bowl) is the core hydraulic module of a multi-stage centrifugal pump. Each bowl contains an impeller, diffuser vanes or volute passages, and the pressure-containing bowl casing that directs fluid from the discharge of one stage to the suction of the next. In vertical turbine pumps and horizontal multi-stage centrifugal pumps, the bowl assembly is the fundamental pumping element — multiple bowls stacked in series generate the total head required by the application.
The bowl assembly must maintain precise hydraulic geometry under high pressure, resist erosion from abrasive or corrosive fluids, and provide reliable sealing between stages. Common failure modes include erosion wear at impeller and bowl passages, corrosion of the bowl interior, cracking from high cyclic pressures, and wear at the shaft sleeve and packing areas.
Our replacement FLOWSERVE bowl assemblies are reverse-engineered using FARO 3D laser scanning to capture the original geometry, including impeller waterways, diffuser passages, bowl bore, and flange dimensions. Produced to exact OEM specifications with full material and quality certification.
