Provide your FLOWSERVE pump model and intake bell requirements — our engineering team will verify specifications and respond with a detailed technical proposal.
Our brand was established to deliver integrated technical solutions in the fluid machinery and engineering sectors. Backed by a complete portfolio of specialized technologies and product lines, we offer clients expert technical consultation, commercial support, and bundled product solutions — from pumps and frequency converters to servo drives, PLC-HMI, industrial control cabinets, motors, mechanical seals and assemblies, couplings, gearboxes, and full-cycle engineering services (overseas on-site 3D scanning reverse molding of pump replacement parts and field equipment debugging by our dispatched engineers internationally).
FLOWSERVE Intake Suction Bell (also called a suction bell mouth or inlet bell) is the flared entry component at the pump inlet that directs fluid smoothly into the impeller eye. Its carefully contoured bell-mouth shape minimizes inlet losses, reduces cavitation risk, and ensures even flow distribution across the impeller — all critical factors for stable pump performance and long bearing and seal life.
As a thin-walled, often complex-geometry casting, the intake suction bell is highly susceptible to cavitation erosion, corrosion, and thermal fatigue. When damaged, sourcing a replacement from the OEM can mean long lead times and high cost. Our reverse-engineered replacement bells are produced to exact OEM dimensions and hydraulic profile, dropping into the existing casing with no field modification required.
The intake bell is typically mounted between the suction piping and the pump bowl or volute casing, secured by the same bolt pattern as the original. Material selection is matched to the service environment — from cast iron for standard water service to duplex stainless steel for seawater and corrosive media.
Common reasons for replacing an intake suction bell:
This replacement intake bell drops into the same pump casing, uses the same bolt pattern, and connects to the same suction piping — no field modification needed.
Service Environment | Recommended Material |
|---|---|
Clean water, ambient temperature | Cast iron |
Sand-laden water, abrasive slurry | Wear-resistant cast iron |
Seawater, brackish water | Duplex stainless steel |
H2S-containing fluids | Stainless steel / Duplex stainless steel |
High-temperature process | Cast steel / Cast alloy steel |
Chemical process | Stainless steel (grade per compatibility) |
Pulp stock (fiber-laden) | Stainless steel with polished interior |
All materials available per ASTM, ANSI, SAE, UNS, DIN, EN, ISO, TOCT standards. Material mill certificates provided with every order.
No original drawings? No problem. Our reverse engineering process delivers a dimensionally and hydraulically equivalent replacement:
