John Crane Seal Water Flow Meter
>
The SWE-GLS is a seal-water supply and monitoring unit for mechanical seals. It feeds conditioned cooling or sealing water to the seal and keeps watch on that water so the seal is not run dry: when the seal-water flow or supply pressure drops below the set value, the unit raises an alarm (and can trip or signal) so the pump can be stopped before the seal is damaged. We supply compatible replacement units and spare modules built to the SWE-GLS configuration, for use where the original equipment needs to be serviced or replicated.
The same SWE-GLS product is offered in two port configurations — single-port for one mechanical seal and double-port for two mechanical seals — so one page covers both; the port version is selected to match the seal arrangement on site.

Configuration |
Seals served |
Monitoring points |
Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
|
Single-port (SWE-GLS / 1 seal) |
One mechanical seal (one pump train) |
1 flow switch + 1 pressure transmitter |
Standard single seal where one seal-water connection is enough. |
|
Double-port (SWE-GLS / 2 seals) |
Two mechanical seals from one skid |
2 flow switches + 2 pressure transmitters (independent) |
Double mechanical seal, or two pumps / two seals fed and watched from one supply and monitoring unit. |
Both versions share the same tank or pot, control unit, solenoid valve, level switch and filter; only the number of seal-water connections and flow/pressure instruments differs. Port configuration is confirmed at order against the seal type and connection size.
From seal duty to a working seal-water system — A replacement seal-water control and monitoring unit is typically built and checked through the following steps:

DONGGUAN HydroBlue is a professional provider of overall technical solutions in the fields of fluid machinery and fluid engineering, industrial equipment automation, and frequency converters.
The company has multi-professional technical talents, including a total of 8 professional technical talents in fluid engineering, electrical engineering, and electronic engineering.
The company has long-term professional and technical cooperation with Jiangsu University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Guangdong University of Technology:
Introducing the brand we created to provide professional overall technical solutions in fluid machinery and engineering. Industrial control and drive equipment, mechanical seals, overseas field engineering solutions, etc.
We have a series of professional technologies and product brands that can provide you with leading technical services, sales support and product supporting solutions - empowering you with pumps, frequency converters, servo drives, PLC servo drives HMI, industrial control cabinets, motors, Reduced motors, mechanical seals and systems, couplings, gearboxes and engineering solutions (overseas on-site service of 3D scanning reverse molding of pump replacement parts to your satisfaction, and on-site equipment debugging services by overseas dispatched engineers).
For a seal-water system, packing is arranged by size and order volume:
Transport mode is chosen by weight and required lead time: express, sea freight, air shipping, land transport, or post.
Q1: Are you a factory or a trading company?
A: We are a professional service provider of customized complete solutions in the field of fluid machinery and fluid engineering, including compatible seal-water control and monitoring units and spare modules built to suit SAFEMATIC-type SWE-GLS configurations.
Q2: Is this an original SAFEMATIC unit?
A: No. We supply compatible replacement equipment built to the SWE-GLS function and configuration. SAFEMATIC is referenced for identification and compatibility only; we are not affiliated with the original manufacturer.
Q3: What is the difference between single-port and double-port?
A: Single-port serves one mechanical seal with one flow switch and one pressure transmitter; double-port serves two mechanical seals from one skid with two independent flow switches and two pressure transmitters. Both share the same tank, control unit and valves — only the number of seal-water connections and instruments differs. The version is chosen to match the seal arrangement.
Q4: What does it do for the mechanical seal?
A: It supplies and conditions the cooling or sealing water to the seal, and watches the flow and pressure so the seal is not run dry; on loss of seal water it alarms (and can trip) to protect the seal.
Q5: Does the tank / pot come with it, and can I get separate modules?
A: The seal-water tank or pot is part of the configuration and is included where the duty needs it; we confirm size and material at order. We can also supply a complete skid or individual modules (control unit, flow switch, pressure transmitter, tank, etc.) for local repair.
Q6: Does it locate a seal leak?
A: It supervises seal-water flow and pressure and indicates abnormal supply; it is not a leak-locating instrument. A sustained low-flow or low-pressure alarm typically points to a seal or supply problem that should then be inspected.
