GOULDS Impeller is the rotating hydraulic component that imparts kinetic energy to the pumped fluid, converting driver torque into flow and pressure. In standard GOULDS process pump designs, the impeller mounting configuration, vane profile, and material grade are selected based on the specific hydraulic duty, fluid corrosivity, and solids content of the application.
For GOULDS 3196 series pumps, the impeller is typically a closed- or semi-open type, mounted on the shaft end and secured with a key and locknut. The impeller diameter is trimmed to match the pump duty point (head and flow requirement at the best efficiency point), and the vane geometry is optimized within the volute casing to minimize hydraulic losses and recirculation.
The impeller bore and keyway dimensions, the shroud OD (for wear ring clearance in closed impellers), and the vane tip geometry must all conform to the original design to maintain the pump's hydraulic curve.
Our GOULDS replacement impellers are cast using FARO 3D scanned pattern data, precision CNC-machined on all critical fits, dynamically balanced, and 100% dimensionally verified on CMM before shipment.
