Share your pump model and bare shaft pump requirements with us — our engineering team will confirm compatibility and provide a detailed technical response.
Our proprietary brand delivers complete technical solutions for fluid machinery and engineering systems. We specialize in industrial control and drive equipment, mechanical seals, and international field engineering support. Through our ecosystem of specialized technologies and product brands, we provide clients with high-level technical advisory, commercial support, and integrated product solutions — including pumps, variable frequency converters, servo drives, PLC-HMI interfaces, industrial control cabinets, motors, mechanical seals and assemblies, couplings, gearboxes, and turnkey engineering services (overseas on-site 3D scanning reverse molding for pump replacement parts and equipment debugging by our dispatched engineers abroad).
GOULDS Bare Shaft Pump (also referred to as a shaft unit, pump rotor assembly, or pump cartridge without impeller) is a complete rotating assembly consisting of the shaft, bearings, bearing housings, seals, coupling, and bearing frame — supplied without the impeller so that the purchaser can fit a custom or application-specific impeller. This configuration is common when the impeller hydraulic design is determined by the specific system duty, when the pump is to be built to a non-standard specification, or when the end-user or engineering firm specifies the impeller as part of the overall pump procurement.
The bare shaft assembly for GOULDS ANSI process pumps includes the shaft, bearing arrangement (typically rolling element bearings at drive end and nondrive end), bearing housings or bearing frame (cast iron or steel, with oil or grease lubrication provisions), shaft seal chamber (configured for mechanical seal or packing gland), coupling hub, and bearing locking hardware. The shaft extends beyond the drive-end bearing housing to accept the motor coupling.
The assembly is aligned at the factory to ensure the shaft runs within acceptable vibration limits, the bearings are preloaded to the correct specification, and the seal cavity is machined to accept the selected mechanical seal or packing set. Some configurations also include an integrated bearing frame that bolts directly to the pump casing without requiring separate grouting or alignment shims.
Our GOULDS bare shaft pump assemblies are built to order using certified shaft materials, OEM or equivalent bearings, precision-machined bearing housings, and full assembly inspection reports including balance, vibration, and dimensional verification.
