Installation & Maintenance Notes
- Thread Sealant — Apply PTFE tape or thread sealant to tapered pipe threads before assembly; do not overtighten plastic fittings
- O-Ring Inspection — Check the O-ring or gasket seal interface for cuts or compression set before installing the fitting; replace O-ring if damaged
- Check Ball Clearance — Ensure the suction check ball or flap moves freely inside the manifold fitting; restricted ball movement causes suction loss
- Prime Maintenance — A leaking suction manifold fitting allows air into the suction line, causing the pump to lose prime; verify the fitting seal after every diaphragm replacement
- Corrosion Inspection — In aggressive chemical service, inspect the manifold fitting interior for signs of attack or cracking at each maintenance interval
