WUXI TRUMY couplings are engineered to accommodate shaft misalignment caused by thermal expansion, installation tolerances, and foundation settlement while dampening vibration transmitted through the pump-drive system. • Determine Pump Power & Speed — Calculate nominal torque: Tn = 9550 × P(kW) / n(RPM). Example: a 37 kW pump running at 1480 RPM produces Tn = 239 Nm
• Apply Service Factor K — Centrifugal pumps: 1.2–1.5 (water), 1.5–2.0 (slurry). Screw/PCP pumps: 2.0–2.5. Reciprocating pumps: 3.0–4.0. Design torque Tc = Tn × K
• Select Coupling by Torque — Match Tc against the coupling series rated torque. For example, a ZL elastic pin coupling rated 800 Nm can serve a 239 Nm design torque with adequate margin
• Verify Bore Compatibility — Confirm the coupling can accommodate both the motor shaft and pump shaft diameters within its maximum bore range
• Check Speed Limit — Verify the selected coupling's maximum RPM exceeds the pump operating speed. Spring plate and elastic pin couplings have higher speed limits than gear couplings
• Consider Environment — For corrosive environments, select SS hubs and flex elements; for high-temperature pump rooms (above 80°C), avoid elastomeric elements and select gear or spring plate couplings
